salad is NOT doable, or worth it.

sausages and toppings, plus veggie patties (which no one ate this time anyway) will suffice.

remember pragmatism people... it's very VERY important.

meh, pragmatism just means ppl have to b quick with salads or they get none. Sort of like limited edition event at akihabara or something. It makes bbq cuisine more interesting, and keeps ppl on their toes. And as amanda said, it is an idea for future reference. Mmmn, prob should have put it into another thread...meh

lamb chops and a bit of veal while you're at it.

When I said we welcome any ideas, I didn't mean you can spam. And I didn't say pragmatism isn't important either. =.=

But then again lamb chops, veals and prawns are doable as long as you bring them yourself. We can cook them for you. ^____________________^ Free service? Possibly in.... maid uniform? *stares at Sam*

omg what on earth is being suggested here? @.@

RE this bbq, I'm quite happy that food amounts were almost perfectly tailored.. (only 2 trays of sausages extra as well as onions; everything else bar sauces and cordial was used up) we didn't have massive amounts of food left over like last year (8 trays of sausages and 5 loaves of bread, anyone?), and the committee didn't have to rush out to buy emergency supplies midway through like the one before.

Manpower was a lot more obliging this time too-- thanks to Drue for shopping efforts, thanks to Amanda and Jia Chee and Damian for onions cutting and mushroom chopping *cries* which really sped up the processes, and thanks to Oliver, Khanat, Damian, and whoever else was flipping stuff at the bbq, for keeping everyone fed! And of course the other Damien for being Cordial master =D this bbq had constant quality cordial, which is praiseworthy! (remembers some past failures LOL)

Phe and the pink bunny rubber stamp were nicely cheerful the whole time... I'm quite amazed at the amount of surveys that got done o.O... nice pushing there, rego peeps!!! And I can't believe people actually cooperated for the group photo... rareness.

...gah I forget the rest of what I was going to say.. T.T.... moving on...!!!!

RE food for future BBQs, I'd just like to say one thing: STICK TO WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING SO FAR. In a club event, it is NOT practical to be catering for more than sausages, patties for vegetarians, and drinks. In fact, mushrooms and onions are already a luxury--I don't usually see other clubs bandying those about! I mean, WHO THE HECK HAS THE TIME TO CUT THOSE UP??? The manpower that goes into getting the food, storing them (they had to borrow a whole EMPTY fridge from a friend this time around because no one had enough space to store the food!), preparing them, and of course COOKING them, is not as readily available as people like to believe they are. The committee is already busy enough as it is and it is unfair to expect them to prepare a gourmet barbie for a whole club. While it is commendable to 'think healthy', not everyone does so, and imagine the possible mounds of uneaten salads that would go to waste. Every barbeque, those in charge of planning it estimate with trepidation how much should be bought--no two occasions have the same amount of people and budget constraints have to be adhered to at the same time.

Be reasonable, people. Things aren't as easy to organise and plan for as they seem. Not by far.

....and omg sorry for ranting T.T

*blink*

Think you might have your Damian/Damien's confused Raine Razz (Yep, a cordial master was I, when I wasn't tagged in by Phe on rego)
