SHN to Wave Filter::XForm Out

Hi guys, recently came across a .avi file which i cannot seem to open with anything. I have used in isolation the newest versions of VLC, mpclassic, Storm codec, CCCP, K-lite standard, realplayer, all to no avail.

details of the problem in technical terms:
the pin failed to find a connectable filter

I WANT TO WATCH that damn file ><and>options>formats>realmedia>alters the directshow into realplayer. It was downloaded as an avi format

corrupt I would say if you've even tried K-lite (klite uses excessive amounts of codecs).

you can try renaming the extension to see if it works...

its not a corrupt file as all the winrar parts i used to extract were fine, and no errors in the extracting process. I used K-Lite standard, is it better if i used the full version and is it free?

although personally, after i installed K-lite i couldnt play some files i was previously able to using Storm Codec....@_@

Hmm. That... doesn't actually look that good. Audio stuffup and not the video itself, it looks like. Possibly you're missing some audio codec, or with all the miscellaneous stuff you've got (CCCP, K-Lite, etc) one codec is conflicting with another one.

Assuming you're using windows, right click on the avi, what does it say on the summary tab in the audio section?

i've used all the ones in isolation by uninstalling one and installing another for all the codec packs.

Err...i am using windows, but the file cannot upon so i dunno how to get to this "summary tab". Its greyed out.

1. rename it .txt and see what happens.
2. open it in internet explorer, see what it throws at you
3. rename it .rm or any other video file
4. panic?

mu,
I can open up an avi file in text format, delete one line and save it back as 2.avi, rar it up into multiple parts, UNrar it back into 2.avi and nothing will be wrong except that 2.avi will still be corrupt.

Extraction and compression are independent of the original file =P

And I would highly recommend you try running the file on another computer just in case it's hardware related for w/e reason.

1. name into txt, random computer language
2. internet explorer jumps out with that download window e.g. open, save, cancel of the file. All three buttons does nothing.
3. opening in real or other formats is the same as before
4. panics

Tim: the file may be corrupt but i doubt it, as usually corrupt files comes out as corrupt or cannot open instead of having a specific error. It does not work on all 3 of my computers, although it was off the internet and some ppl can play it, some cant ???
