What happened to the MCAC website?
I recently noticed that quite a bit of event details are not very noob friendly and had to trawl through a fair bit (of spam) to find the right information. Also helps for new members to read an "Upcoming Events" web page of some sort.

I think its because it takes too much effort to update. Most of us sorta hang around on the forums. Wordpress takes ages to load.

I do have an events page setup? I dunno how to make it more n00b friendly. I think it's better then info on the forums where you get intimidated with like 10 pages on the events thread. I tried asking for help of others for updates but only Chris, Raine and Nazri replied with info for user login. So yeah *shrugs*.

Celine, I think the navigation is a little weird. And the template is a bit dry. It doesn't allow much room for graphics s it just looks like a big slab of text among text.

The side nav bar is good imo. Simplistic and not cluttered.
A banner would be nice.
(what's word press? newspaper? lol)
You could also add a bg pic or something.
If you're really adventurous, you could try coding the nav bar into an iframe.

I don't see the point in using an iframe. And since the site's using Wordpress I would rather avoid editing too much or I'll break the template I'm using again (yes I am using a template, I stopped learning xhtml and whatever else they use these days like 6 years ago).

I just chose this template cause I thought it was clean. I gotta admit, it's a bit plain but I kind of reallllly hate those anime sites with their fugly banners with anime characters from various series. Unless the banners really well made (and it normally isn't, I don't have the ability to put a good banner together either). I might be able to get something out. Perhaps I'll look into a new layout again (for the third time).

Thats because theirs images are ripped, shopped and bannerized.

We need to design one from scratch.

i could get one up and running in a short amount of time i guess (procrastion =D) but i would need dementions and something u actually want on it, after that i'll just rip the asian characters from this one and after that shouldn't be too hard

Are you kidding chris? Almost all wallpapers have images taken from scans or renders. Banners wouldn't be much different.
Making one from scratch would be so hardcore you might as well dump your part time job and take freelance work in multimedia/webdesign. (Given the picture is HQ)
Even had a friend in year 11 get a job like that. Made a website for a car company. Triple figures Razz

Unless you mean starting from scratch as in making the bg.

Hi there, I'm still a newbie here and i didn't mean to sounds clever or something like that.

However if i may suggest, The forum's top banner ( The picture that says "Monash Clayton Anime Club" with the Big MC-AC thing). I would say it will be a good idea if you put hyperlink that links us to the main page

<a href="../Index.html><img></a>
or something like that...

Coz i find it hard to return to the main page as the navigation doesn't have one that links us directly to the main page.
